
India’s Jan merchandise exports rise 23.69% to $34.06 bn over Jan 2021
India’s merchandise exports in January this year increased by 23.69 per cent to $34.06 billion over $27.54 billion in January 2021. The figure represents a 31.75 per cent rise over $25.85 billion in January 2020. Merchandise imports in January were worth $52.01 billion, a rise of 23.74 per cent and 26.38 per cent over $42.03 billion and $41.15 billion in January 2021 and January 2020 respectively.
India exported cotton yarn/fabrics/madeups, handloom products etc worth $1389.46 million in January 2022, up 42.58 per cent over January 2021.
India’s merchandise imports in April 2021-January 2022 were worth $495.83 billion, an increase of 62.68 per cent over $304.79 billion in the same duration during 2020-21 and a rise of 22.3 per cent over $405.33 billion in the same period in 2019-20.
India’s merchandise exports in January rose by 23.69 per cent to $34.06 billion over $27.54 billion in January 2021, and by 31.75 per cent over $25.85 billion in January 2020.Merchandise imports in January were worth $52.01 billion, a rise of 23.74 per cent and 26.38 per cent over $42.03 billion and $41.15 billion in that month in 2021 and 2020 respectively.
The trade deficit in January this year was $17.94 billion, while it was $160.38 billion during April 2021-January 2022, an official press release said.
Value of non-petroleum exports in January this year was $30.33 billion, registering a growth of 19.4 per cent over $25.4 billion for such exports in the same month in 2021 and 33.81 per cent over $22.67 billion in January 2020.
Value of non-petroleum imports was $40.57 billion in January 2022 with a growth of 24.44 per cent over such imports of $32.61 billion in January 2021 and 44.19 per cent over such imports worth $28.14 billion in January 2020.
