Top Trends from the Architectural Digest Show in NYC
Last week was the Architectural Digest Show in New York City, and we were lucky enough to go! This show was a fabulous place to pick up on the upcoming trends in home decor. We got the low-down on what’s IN, and we are passing along our favorite current trends to you because we are oh so nice 😉
1. Conversation Knobs
You might be wondering what the women below are wearing on their heads. They are actually a few of Baldwin’s best-selling knobs…in hat form! You can purchase these knobs in miniature form for all of your cabinet needs. PS- Baldwin celebrated their 70 year anniversary this year…happy birthday Baldwin! Scroll for more eye-catching knobs.
Serenity on these sink knobs from THG Paris looks so modern and fun. Again with the conversational knobs theme! These can be purchased from THG Paris.
More pretty knobs from THG Paris!
2. Colorful Kitchens
We’re loving this one. At the AD Show, colorful and unique kitchen appliances were all the rage. Note the use of the Pantone Colors of the Year, Serenity & Rose Quartz!
Love the colorful, Rose Quartz-colored knobs in the photos above. Who says your oven knobs have to be boring?!
These kitchen appliances in Pantone’s Serenity color are so retro and fabulous. This refrigerator is made by Big Chill, a company specializing in retro, colorful, and modern kitchen appliances. This brand is so fabulous that country music star Miranda Lambert even owns one of their refrigerators! What a fun fact.
3. Patterned Flatweave Rugs
Patterned flatweave rugs, like the ones seen below, are currently selling like hotcakes. What’s more is that the design industry is currently loving custom rugs, and the manufacturers are delivering. Most high-end rug companies can customize color, size, pile, and more.
4. Floral Frenzy
We saw so many gorgeous floral and botanical designs at the AD Show this year. And we don’t mean your standard floral patterns- flowers, twigs, and leaves were worked into designs in the most unique ways.
We always love the things Rifle Paper does with florals!
This gorgeous print by photographer Dagmara Weinberg depicts a photo of the famous Washington D.C. cherry blossoms through a kaleidoscope lense. So unique!
5. Acrylic Everything
We recently wrote a blog post on the current acrylic furniture trend, and this was consistent throughout the AD Show. From acrylic chairs to fabulous acrylic wall art, we saw this material everywhere.
This acrylic art was very interesting.
We’re suckers for a good acrylic console.
6. Modern Artistic Pieces
We are crazy about these modern and sleek new furniture lines that all have their own unique, artistic flair. These are truly investment pieces that add a curated feel to any home.
We love the way Debra Folz used the Pantone Colors of the Year in her booth shown below! They look amazing against the chrome and brass hardware of her pieces.
7. Modern Lighting
Ultra modern lighting with brass hardware is definitely popular right now. We love the look of the exposed bulb and sleek materials. This fits in perfectly with the transitional decor look that is all over everyone’s Pinterest boards as of late.
